CERAMICS
Clay is a versatile material. There is so much variety in the natural body that it can be used for many purposes. An appropriate clay body is chosen for a particular subject. Then it can be glazed (or not) and fired in different ways. I like to formulate my own glazes from basic materials and with a degree in chemistry understand what I wish to achieve. Sometimes the results are unpredictable and if they were not ideal the work would be refired. Often one can get a pleasant surprise.
